Why it is difficult to trust God
Here are some of our trust issues:
1. We don’t know God.
It’s not easy to trust a stranger.
We have so many contradictory beliefs about God.
This is why the first thing God did was to tell me first about Him,
despite my wanting to know about myself,
my life and what the future holds.
2. God’s way is not our way.
God’s Statement:
You cannot fit a square peg in a round hole.
The way of God can be confusing because the way things
work in our world and God’s world are “worlds apart".
Example: We live in a world where self-dependency is necessary for survival.
In God’s world, complete dependency on Him is a must. So, when I was crying out
to God worrying about my financial situation,
I told God I need money. He replied:
“You don’t need money for I do not need money to provide for you.”
We say: “Do not give man fish, teach Him to fish.” God says:
“Do not just give him fish…cook it for him.”
This is why God said:
“the wisdom of men is foolish”.
Why? They are all inapplicable as far as God is concerned.
We often don’t understand or misinterpret the way of God because we apply our “wisdom”,
which are all useless as far as God is concerned.
3. Most of us cannot see Him or touch Him. He is like an imaginary friend.
